Installing CRM 2011 – splash.exe crash

If you try to install CRM 2011 RTM on a machine with Internet Explorer 9, when you click on any of the options in the initial splash window you will get “microsoft crm splash screen has stopped working” crash.

To workaround it, run server/amd64/setupserver.exe directly.

This works for the WorkGroup version as well.

Nice workout, but could you help to indicate how the other options are installed? I need to install the report extensions and don’t now how to launch this…

right – me to Euro. There doesn’t seem to be a path to install reporting extensions directly…

in the Server/amd64/ssrsdataconnector folder there’s an executable. run that as administrator and it should work – key is allowing it to install windows identity foundation.
